Throughout this course, you will identify the links between the core subjects and how to maximise your pupils’ opportunities to develop numeracy, literacy and scientific skills.
Outcomes
You will be able to:
- Plan Science lessons that further develop mathematical and literacy skills.
- Understand the progression in Numeracy and Literacy skills and how to develop children’s skills.
- Explore a range of ideas to promote the understanding and retention of children’s scientific vocabulary.
- Gain an awareness of the nature and breadth of opportunities for linking science with literacy and numeracy.
- Understand the importance of quality Science texts in the classroom and how these can be used as hooks for learning, supporting understanding and developing reading.
