BTEC Business on Dragons Den

On Monday 29th January, one of the Biddulph High School Year 12 BTEC Business groups took part in a Dragons Den style pitch. They were given the task of researching and producing a product that could be added to the product portfolio of Innocent Drinks. The groups of students were expected to consider the financial forecasts, design and production of their new addition. They presented their ideas to a panel of external judges who questioned them on their ideas and the decisions that they had made. The ideas included a breakfast bar, ice lollies and jelly products. They were all innovative and viable and we were very pleased with the groups on the day.

The presentations were of an extremely high standard. All students acted in a mature and business-like manner which the judges were impressed with and commented upon. The winning team was a banana and strawberry Innocent ice lolly. Although the group had some problems on the day (the ice lolly prototype did not freeze), they had created some hard hitting financial data showing that good profit margins could be made on the product.

Well done to all students who took part and many thanks to the judges for their time and invaluable input on the day.
